The entire film fraternity of India is having a busy week with the International Film Festival of India currently in progress in Goa. Sujoy Ghosh, director of national award winning film Kahaani, is also having a whale of a time basking in the sun and swimming in the ocean. But Sujoy, whose first film as an actor Satyanweshi is to be screened at the festival today, is upset that his director is not around anymore.
Sujoy, who played the character of Bengali sleuth Byomkesh Bakshi in Rituparno Ghosh's last film Satyanweshi, tweeted today, "SATYANWESHI in IFFI today. would have been fun if Ritu da was around. (Sic)".
The director in him, though, is in a happy mood to have witnessed a friend and actor excel. Praising Parambrata Chatterjee's acting prowess in Kaushik Ganguly's upcoming film Apur Panchali, he tweeted, "saw a beautiful film by Kaushik Ganguly called APU'R PANCHALI. Param is superb in the film. pitch perfect. and Parno Mitra .. outFstanding! (Sic)." The film also stars Bong dusky beauty Parno Mittra.
Parambrata, whose first Bollywood film was Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani, in which he essayed the role of a cop named Satyaki alongside Vidya Balan, tweeted back, "And @sujoy_g do you realize that this is the first time you've praised me on public forum?? (Sic)". He also added that the film received an overwhelming response at the IFFI.
